Armstrong World Industries Will Invest $11 Million in W. Va. Plant

Armstrong World Industries (Lancaster, Pa.) will modernize its hardwood flooring plant in Beverly, W. Va., with an $11 million investment, according to the Parkersburg News and Sentinel.

The money will be used to buy new vacuum drying kilns and infrastructure upgrades to expedite the production process.

Currently, it takes 40 days from the time the plant receives a wood shipment to when it is put into boxes for the customer. The upgrades will reduce the process to four days, Steve Bullock, plant manager, told the newspaper.

"Forty days through the process to four is a huge difference," he said.

The 75-acre plant employs 650 people.
