Ecore International (Lancaster, Pa.), manufacturer of cork flooring and QT sound control underlayments, settled a lawsuit against Paul Downey and Pliteq for purchasing Ecore product and reselling it as their own manufactured product.
“We learned from an employee of that warehouse that Pliteq was instructing the warehouse to take the Ecore labels off of our products and replace the Ecore labels with labels identifying the products as being manufactured by Pliteq,” said Arthur Dodge III, president and CEO of Ecore, in a statement.
A federal judge, acting on Ecore’s request made after they discovered Pliteq’s activity, immediately ordered Pliteq to stop. The lawsuit continued and ultimately settled out of court.
