Avant-Guard Flooring (Pointe-Claire, Quebec, Canada), manufacturer of Silhouette Hardwood Flooring, is unable to meet its financial obligations and was placed in receivership June 29, said Tom Gormley, who has owned the company for 10 years, in an email.
All of Avant-Guard’s assets, its buildings and equipment, will be put up for bid beginning July 30.
Gormley said it’s hard to predict where things will go from here.
The receiver may get bids for all the assets as part of a plan to re-launch the business, or the buildings and equipment will be sold off in pieces, he said.
