Eugen Lägler GmbH's (Guglingen, Germany) acquisition of Denver-based Palo Duro Hardwoods was finalized Oct. 1, and Jeff Fairbanks, former VP of Palo Duro, will serve as president under the new business.
Fairbanks has been with Palo Duro since 1997. He is also the current National Wood Flooring Association chairman.
Denver-based Palo Duro has been the exclusive North American importer and sales agent for Lägler, inventors of the industry-transforming Hummel belt sander, since 1995.
The new Palo Duro team has concentrated its efforts on building a new training facility in Denver that will provide a domestic supplement to the annual Lägler Fly & Sand training trip to Lägler’s headquarters in Germany.
“The new facility in Denver will allow us to significantly increase the number of training events we can host,” Fairbanks said in a statement.
The acquisition was originally announced in June.
In the announcement, Fairbanks said everyone from the two companies looks forward to continued mutual success.
“The new company will continue to reinforce and build on these relationships, as well as our outstanding customer service,” Fairbanks said.
