Mohawk Industries (Dallas) reported a third quarter 2015 profit of $214 million, an increase of 42 percent from the company’s $151 million profit in the same period last year.
Net sales were up 8 percent to $2.2 billion compared with the prior year’s third quarter total of $2 billion.
The significant increase in the company’s financials was due, in part, to internal reorganization. Mohawk split its flooring division into two segments—North America and Rest of World.
“Our new segment structure that we announced last quarter has benefited our performance, enabling us to optimize our regional businesses by enhancing our product offerings, manufacturing assets and distribution strategies,” said CEO Jeffrey Lorberbaum in a statement.
Mohawk’s Flooring North America segment sales were up 8 percent year-over-year. Rest of the World segment sales increased 24 percent year-over-year. The North American and Rest of World segments
