Innovations4Flooring Wins European Patent Case Against Unilin

Innovations4Flooring (Willemstad, Curaçao) won a European Patent Office case against the Unilin group for its 3L TripleLock EP2440724 patent, the company reported.

3L Triplelock is a click locking system for floor coverings, including wood flooring.

“This latest victory is yet another example of how Unilin’s market behavior is based more on threats than on facts,” said CEO John Rietveldt in a statement. “The EPO’s decision is yet further reinforcement of our patent’s strength and its added value for our licensees.”

Unilin did not respond to a request for comment.
