The Coalition for Fair Trade of Hardwood Plywood filed “critical circumstances” petitions with the Department of Commerce to impose antidumping and countervailing duties on Chinese hardwood plywood imports, which have “surged” recently, according to the Hardwood, Plywood and Veneer Association.

If the Coalition’s efforts are successful, duties could be retroactively imposed on Chinese hardwood plywood imported since Jan. 17, 2017.
The DOC is due to release its findings in the countervailing duty and antidumping investigations on April 17 and June 16, respectively.
