Floor and Décor Reports 57 Percent Jump in Q1 Profit

Floor and Décor (Smyrna, Ga.) reported a first quarter profit of $11.1 million, a 56.7 percent increase compared with the $7.1 million in profit the company made in the first quarter of 2016.

Sales were $307.3 million, up 30.6 percent compared with the $253.3 million in sales reported in the first quarter of 2016. Comparable store sales grew $12.8 percent.

“We have developed a highly differentiated, multi-channel, hard surface flooring and accessories business that we believe offers the industry’s broadest in-stock assortment at everyday low prices, with best-in-class customer service that meets the needs of both our Pro and our Do-It-Yourself customers,” said CEO Tom Taylor in a statement. “We are focused on continued improvement and reinvestment in the business to make Floor and Décor a better place to work for our associates, and a better place to shop for our customers.”
