Fire at Somerset Mill Quickly Contained

A fire started inside the baghouse at a Somerset Wood Products Inc. mill in Crossville, Tenn., on June 9.

No one was hurt, and the damage was contained to the building’s duct system thanks to quick reactions from staff and the Crossville Fire Department, Somerset Vice President of Sales and Marketing Paul Stringer said.

“While a fire is not a good thing, I am thankful there were no injuries and I was impressed how well everyone did their jobs,” Stringer said. “A much happier ending than it could have been.”
