The winner of the Bostik Inc. (Wauwatosa, Wis.) Art of Hardwood Flooring Design Contest is interior designer Jennifer Sheets, who submitted an inlay with interlocking geometric shapes and stylized symmetry that she describes as an “array.”
The design will be installed in a new steakhouse at the Park MGM Resort, a new hotel under development in Las Vegas, later this month. The arrays will cover approximately 540 square feet.
“I’ve been fortunate to be in this industry for 10 years, with a wide range of various commercial and hospitality projects that I designed and/or managed from concept to completion, and this is by far one of my most exciting achievements,” Sheet said in a statement.
The array has been manufactured by contest sponsor Oshkosh Designs (Winneconne, Wis.).
“The final installation will be a visual masterpiece, and we were up to the challenge of producing world-class wood flooring that is in sync with the overall theme of the restaurant,” said Oshkosh Designs CEO and President Brenda Kubasta in a statement. “We are so proud to be featuring our premium craftsmanship for this ultra-high visibility, hospitality space!”
Contest sponsor Eagle Bay Hardwood Flooring, a Delta Hardwood Flooring brand, will provide the wood flooring for the rest of the restaurant. The floor will be installed by MasterCraft Floors using Bostik products where applicable.
