Horizon Forest Employee Jet Skied People to Safety After Hurricane

An employee at Horizon Forest Products (Raleigh, N.C.) in Houston rode a jet ski into neighborhoods flooded by Hurricane Harvey and rode stranded people to safety.

“It was about taking care of people and doing the right thing,” said Warehouse Team Member Gerson Pereira in a statement. “We worked together as a community and everybody did their part.”

Horizon said staff were proud of Pereira and fortunate to have him on board.

“I can’t imagine the warehouse without him,” said Houston Branch Leader Alan Blake. “Our business wouldn’t be the same. Without being asked, he went above and beyond. It was truly amazing.”
