Straw Flooring Product Claims to Be Most Eco-Friendly

Two companies announced a partnership to bring their two respective technologies—straw flooring and a bio-based resin system—together to create the world’s most eco-friendly flooring system without formaldehyde, according to Business Weekly.

Lodgi Floor (Jiangsu, China) and CleanTech SME Cambond (Cambridge, United Kingdom) announced the partnership earlier this month and hope to bring a product to market in late 2018. Lodgi is a specialist in using straw as a wood substitute in hard floor coverings. Cambond manufactures a bio-based green resin system with no formaldehyde for the global wood panel industry.

“By combining our strengths to work in the zero-formaldehyde wood flooring system, it will build the foundation for both sides to work together for developing the novel functional wood panel market in the future,” Lodgi CEO told Business Weekly.
