The massacre of 13 men in the “restive” southern region of Senegal was blamed on a feud in the area’s illegal teak logging industry, according to the Daily Mail.
It is unclear who the assailants were, but the Daily Mail said a fierce rivalry between sawmill operators in the region have workers taking extreme measures to compete. Ten of the men were shot, execution style, while two were stabbed to death and one was burned. At least half a dozen more men were injured.
The massacre has shaken the region, which has enjoyed an uneasy peace since Senegal President Macky Sall came into office in 2012, the report said.
