The International Wood Products Association (IWPA) hosted its 62nd annual World of Wood Convention, which drew attendees from 27 countries.
The convention focused on financial and economic trends within the wood industry and featured a presentation by economist Win Thin, as well as a discussion on leadership and business growth by author Mary Kelly.
The event, which took place March 14-16 in New Orleans, also focused on legal and regulatory developments in the global wood industry, according to IWPA Executive Director Cindy Squires.
Caroline McIlvain of J. Gibson McIlvain Company was named the new president of IWPA during the convention and three new IWPA board members were appointed, including Alan Futscher of CDC Distributors Inc., Gregg Wilkinson of Clarke Veneers & Plywood and John Barber of Benchmark International.
The next convention will take place April 3-5, 2019, at the Loews Ventana Canyon in Tucson, Ariz.
