The 2017 Greenbuild International Conference and Expo recorded a 90.5 percent waste diversion rate, the highest rate ever achieved by the annual sustainability-centered gathering.
The conference, coordinated by Informal Exhibitions and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), was held in Boston in November alongside the ArchitectureBoston Expo, with 14,500 attendees pledging to bring reusable water bottles, walk or use car-sharing services and choose local, organic food options at the event. Exhibitors also donated over 25,000 pounds of materials to local nonprofits.
The three-day event attracted 24,731 attendees with 703 exhibitors, and 96 countries were represented.
The 2018 Greenbuild conference will take place Nov. 14-16 at McCormick Place in Chicago. Registration is open.
