Floor & DĂ©cor had a net income increase of 95 percent during the second quarter of 2018, growing to $39.8 million compared with $20.4 million earned in the second quarter of 2017.
The company’s net sales jumped 26.2 percent during the quarter, increasing to $434.3 million compared with $344.0 million in the second quarter of 2017; comparable store sales increased 11.4 percent compared with 2017.
Floor & Décor’s diluted earnings per share rose 90 percent, from $0.20 to $0.38.
“Our new stores’ first-year sales and profitability have never been higher, and this reinforces our confidence in the 400 store opportunity we see for Floor & Décor,” CEO Tom Taylor said in a statement. “Our improving new store performance, combined with other strategic priorities, gives me confidence that our differentiated strategy is working well.”
Floor & DĂ©cor opened four stores during the quarter, bringing its total number of warehouse format stores to 88.
