Construction Associations Sue Denver Over Vaccine Mandates

Multiple construction trade associations based in Colorado filed a lawsuit against the city of Denver over the city’s vaccine mandates, The Denver Post reported.

The lawsuit, filed by seven construction trade organizations, is an attempt to block the city’s vaccine mandate for private construction contractors who work with the city. It argues that Denver cannot impose its own vaccine mandates for employees onto private construction contractors.

“Plaintiffs support vaccinations and have made significant efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19,” the lawsuit states, according to The Post. “However, Denver cannot legally or practically conscript the private sector to enforce the order for it.”

The lawsuit also argues that such a mandate would deplete an already struggling construction workforce.
