Poll: 44% of Small Businesses Fear Omicron Variant Will Harm Recovery

A recent survey found 44% of small businesses in the U.S. are concerned the Omicron variant of COVID-19 will hurt their economic recovery, Alignable reported.

Of the 5,632 small business owners polled, 40% said they will increase basic health protocols in response to Omicron, and 23% of small business owners said they are getting a booster shot in efforts to control the damage Omicron could inflict. In the survey, conducted Dec. 4–7, 24% of small business owners responded that they are not doing anything differently in response to the Omicron variant, and 21% said they are investing more in marketing.

In Canada, 53% of small businesses reported concern regarding the Omicron variant impeding economic recovery.

Fifty-eight percent of retailers reported concern, along with 52% of manufacturers.
