CCA Global Partners canceled its Winter Convention due to “significant health risk” posed by COVID-19 and the predicted increase in cases.
The event, held for Carpet One Floor & Home, Flooring America/Flooring Canada, ProSource and the Floor Trader retailers, was originally scheduled to be held in Orlando, Fla., Jan. 16–19. The most recent spike in the Omicron variant led to the decision to cancel, according to organizers.
“The safety of every attendee from members to supplier/partners to staff, is at the top of our minds,” stated Howard Brodsky, chairman and co-CEO of CCA Global Partners. “We carefully weighed the input from experts and given that the COVID-19 situation is likely to worsen in the next two weeks, we made the difficult decision to cancel all the conventions and related events.”
CCA Global Partners is planning to move ahead with its summer convention, scheduled to begin Aug. 7.
