U.S. college enrollment declined 3.1% in 2021 compared with 2020, the New York Times reported. Since 2019, the last year unimpacted by the pandemic, college enrollment has declined 6.6%, or 1.2 million students. Public two-year colleges have been the most impacted, with enrollment declining 13.2% since 2019.
