Small Business Report: December Gains Wiped Out By Omicron in January

Gains made by small businesses in December were largely erased in January due in part to the surge of the Omicron variant of COVID-19, according to an Alignable survey.

Small businesses reporting a full recovery dropped to 30% in January, a 13% decline compared with December.

Of the survey respondents, 58% of small business owners reported feeling a negative impact on their businesses, a 16% increase from December.

Inflation remained the dominant concern among small businesses, but Omicron concerns surged, with 68% of respondents reporting fears it would negatively impact their growth now or later, a 24% increase from December.
