Canada Housing Starts Fall 22% in December

Housing starts in Canada declined 22% in December from November to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 236,106 units, according to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.

Urban starts declined 24% and multiple urban starts declined 29%.

Housing starts remain historically high in the country overall despite the month-over-month declines, according to CMHC.
