An online bankruptcy auction is underway for “The One,” a Bel Air mega-mansion with luxurious parquet flooring that was once the most expensive residential listing in the U.S.
The property, once valued at $500 million, was listed for a record-breaking $295 million in January, with the caveat that it would go to bankruptcy auction if it didn’t sell before Feb. 28.
The bidding closes March 3 and sat at $50 million as of March 1, according to Concierge Auctions, which is hosting the auction. The building is considered the country’s largest single family residence and most expensive home.
The international real estate agents aiding in the auction said the building has attracted a number of “qualified billionaire buyers” from America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
The 105,000-square-foot building boasts lavish amenities, including a cigar lounge, bowling alley, putting green, juice bar and 30-plus car garage, according to Mansion Global.
And wood floor pros will particularly appreciate the flooring.
