Edward J. ‘Ted’ Egan, a longtime leader in the flooring adhesives industry, died on March 7. He was 78.
Egan’s more than 55-year career spanned multiple businesses and roles, including general executive management, marketing, sales and operations positions. He most recently served 17 years with Taylor Adhesives.
Prior to Taylor Adhesives, Egan was president of the Parabond adhesives division of Para-Chem Southern, and from 1982–1996 he served as president and COO of WW Henry Company/Armstrong World Industries.
Egan was involved in the Adhesives and Sealants Council, Carpet & Rug Institute, Chemical Specialities Manufacturer Association and NAFCD. He also served on several business and educational foundations boards, including Floor Covering Installers of North America and Special Olympics.
He leaves behind his wife of 33 years Anne Marie, his five children, Todd, Lisa, Kevin, Daniel, and Lilly Anne, 12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
