Bona (Malmö, Sweden) sustainability achievements in 2021 included the addition of an electric truck for its transportation fleet in Limburg, Germany, an investment in a geothermal system at its Malmö facility, and the purchase of 26,000-square-meters of land in Monroe, N.C., to increase environmentally friendly efficiency in its operations.
Bona (Malmö, Sweden) sustainability achievements in 2021 included the addition of an electric truck for its transportation fleet in Limburg, Germany, an investment in a geothermal system at its Malmö facility, and the purchase of 26,000-square-meters of land in Monroe, N.C., to increase environmentally friendly efficiency in its operations.
“Our commitment and responsible approach to the environment, people and society has remained steadfast for more than 100 years,” stated Kerstin Lindell, Chair of the Board for Bona. “This past year presented some challenges, including supply chain and raw materials shortages, yet Bona stayed flexible and focused. Thanks to our fantastic team, our promise to deliver the best products and systems to our customers never wavered and we continue to identify more sustainable solutions.”
Bona’s Monroe facility is slated to be completed in 2022. In 2021, the company said it released several new products formulated with a greener chemistry that is water-based and biodegradable. Since its introduction of tube packaging “sausages” for adhesive products five years ago, the company has avoided using more than 258,000 buckets, equal to carbon savings of 243,281 kg, it reported.
