U.S. Hardwood Flooring Imports Have Strongest Month Since 2018

U.S. imports of hardwood flooring increased 36% month-over-month in March, the strongest month of hardwood flooring imports recorded since November 2018, according to ITTO.

Hardwood flooring imports from Brazil increased 74% in March and were up 24% over 2021 through the first quarter. Hardwood flooring imports from Malaysia increased 44% through the first quarter and more than tripled in March compared with February 2022.

U.S. imports of engineered wood flooring increased 14% in March, with total imports up 86% through the first quarter “as imports from most major trading nations are up strongly,” ITTO reported.
