MAPEI Corporation (Deerfield Beach, Fla.) acquired a new 200,000-square-foot facility in Houston, Texas.
The facility is designed for manufacturing powders and liquid admixtures and is currently in “phase one” of development as manufacturing equipment is installed. It is set to open in 2023 and holds the possibility of further expansion, as well, MAPEI’s Director of Operations Carlo Mandelli stated.
The plant is slated to create 80 new jobs between direct and indirect labor when it opens, according to MAPEI President and CEO Luigi Di Geso.
“This Houston facility joins our Garland facility, expanding our Texas footprint and allowing us to serve our customers across the South, West and Central United States even more efficiently,” Di Geso stated.
MAPEI also has facilities under construction in Dalton, Ga., and Fredericksburg, Va., both of which will also be full-production facilities.
