A survey of small businesses found that 47% are at risk of shutting down by fall 2022 unless economic conditions “improve significantly,” Alignable reported.
That percentage is up from 35% reported in the summer of 2021. The most at-risk industries in the survey included retail (59%) and construction (52%), followed by the automotive sector (51%) and restaurant owners (50%).
The findings are based on a poll of 4,392 small business owners taken from mid-June to mid-July.
