The value of imported Russian plywood in the U.S. increased 68% to $214 million year-to-date in July, an analysis by the Decorative Hardwoods Association found.
The value surged despite an 11% decline in volume since the beginning of 2022. Imports of Russian hardwood plywood have slowed since tariffs were imposed in April following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
