Stanley Black & Decker and TerraCycle have partnered to launch a free disposal program designed to recycle home appliances and tools, including products containing integral lithium-ion batteries.
The program accepts a number of products under the Stanley Black & Decker brand portfolio, including DeWalt, Craftsman, Porter-Cable, Bostitch and more. Participants in the program create a TerraCycle account, fill a box with the appliances and tools and mail them using a free shipping label that can be downloaded on the TerraCycle website.
The waste material is then cleaned, sorted and remolded to make new recycled products, according to the companies.
