U.S. Hardwood Flooring Imports Down 7% in August

U.S. imports of hardwood flooring fell 7% month-over-month in August, ITTO reported.

Compared with August 2021, imports of hardwood flooring were down 6%. There were sharp year-over-year declines in imports from China, Indonesia and Brazil. However, imports from Malaysia nearly quadrupled, reaching their highest level in four years, according to the report.

Year-to-date, overall U.S. imports of hardwood flooring increased 13% compared with the same period last year.

Imports of engineered wood flooring rose 1% overall, as imports from Brazil climbed 56%. Imports from Vietnam fell 26%.
