Small Business Optimism Gets a Boost In November, But Remains Below Average

Small business optimism increased 0.6 points in November to a level of 91.9, but remained below the 49-year average of 98 on the National Federation of Independent Business Small Business Optimism Index.

Inflation was reported as the number one problem by 32% of small business owners surveyed.

“Going into the holiday season, small business owners are seeing a slight ease in inflation pressures, but prices remain high,” NFIB Chief Economist Bill Dunkelberg stated. “The small business economy is recovering as owners manage an ongoing labor shortage, supply chain disruptions, and historic inflation.”
