Hardwood Plywood Imports Fall to Lowest Level Since 2010

U.S. imports of hardwood plywood declined 63% year-over-year in January, hitting their lowest volume level since December 2010, ITTO reported.

The 147,724 cubic meters imported in January was down 3% from December 2022.

Year-over-year, hardwood plywood imports from Russia and Vietnam both dropped 79%.

U.S. hardwood flooring imports rose 7% in month-over-month January due in part to a 15% surge from Indonesia. It is the fifth consecutive month of hardwood flooring import growth. Hardwood flooring imports from China and Brazil also grew month-over-month, and imports from Malaysia were flat. Year-over-year, U.S. hardwood flooring imports increased 17% in January.
