U.S. Court Upholds Section 301 Tariffs on China After Lawsuit

The additional 25% tariffs on hardwood plywood and multilayered wood flooring from China will remain in place following a decision by the U.S. Court of International Trade to uphold the Section 301 tariffs.

The Section 301 tariffs on Chinese imports were challenged by a lawsuit filed on behalf of 3,600 importers and were placed under review. The court chose to uphold the tariffs March 17.

“The Court found that the U.S. Trade Representative supplied the needed explanation to support imposing the tariffs,” according to the Decorative Hardwoods Association. “The U.S. Trade Representative is still conducting its legally required four-year review.”

The court’s order can be found here.
