From The Forest, a Weston, Wis.-based flooring manufacturer, has introduced Real Wood Plank, a wood flooring product that can be installed via peel-and-stick technology.

The flooring’s patented installation method, VacuuBond, features factory-applied adhesive in groups of parallel strings that “create a soft vacuum.” “When pressure is applied by walking on the floor (or J-roller for wall installs) the air between the glue strings is forced out, and a soft (suction) is created when the pressure is relieved,” From The Forest explains.

The bond strength is 105.3 psi when installed on plywood with primer; 87.6 psi on OSB with primer; 89.6 psi on concrete with primer; and 90 psi on membrane, the company says.

The engineered oak flooring is tongue and grooved and features a Wearmax finish and 10 color options. It has zero VOCs.

“The impact of this innovative method on the flooring industry could be as significant as the previous developments of UV finishes and imitations of hardwood flooring like laminate, LVT and WPC,” the company says.
