Bertie’s Inn in Exeter Township, Pa., concluded its 31st annual belt sander race, in which locals sit atop belt sanders and ride them across a plywood platform for charity.

The event was held July 15 to raise funds for the Homeless Youth Program at Mary's Shelter.

In 2022, the race raised $12,500, and this year’s fundraising amount had not been revealed by publication time.

"The belt sander is obviously very strange to sit on and race it," Bertie's owner Patty Miravich told WFMZ. "It's such a thrilling experience, and we enjoyed racing."
