Saint-Gobain, Norton Parent Company, Sees Record Profit in First Half of 2023

Saint-Gobain, the French parent company of Norton Abrasives, reported a record-high recurring net income for the first half of 2023.

The company earned $1.9 billion USD in the first half of the year, up 0.4% compared with the same period in 2022. The multinational corporation’s operating income also hit a record-high, rising 2.1% to $3 billion USD.

Over 60% of Saint-Gobain’s earnings are now generated in North America, Asia and emerging countries, according to CEO Benoit Bazin.

“Despite a moderate slowdown in its markets in the short-term, in 2023 Saint-Gobain will deliver

a double-digit operating margin for the third consecutive year,” Bazin added. “Over the medium term, I am confident that the Group’s new profile places it firmly on a sustainable profitable growth trajectory.”
