FCEF to Fund 100% of Training Scholarships for 100 People for 100 Days

The Floor Covering Education Foundation announced it will offer full scholarships of up to $2,500 for flooring installation training to 100 individuals in 100 days.

The promotion begins Dec. 1 and runs until March 10, 2024. The tuition applies to individuals who are new to the flooring industry or have worked as an installation helper for under a year, have no felony charges and live in the U.S. or Canada. The scholarships will be for beginning and intermediate classes from FCEF-approved training partners, including Certified Flooring Installers, the National Wood Flooring Association, Ceramic Tile Education Foundation and Advanced Flooring Technologies.

FCEF scholarships have typically covered 50% of tuition costs for training courses.

We keep hearing how many other industries are starving for talent, and many of them already cover 100% of introductory training,” FCEF Executive Director Jim Aaron said in a statement. “These 100 days will tell us if the responsibility to cover the other 50% of the cost of introductory training is an impediment to entering our industry."

A list of FCEF-approved training classes can be found here. For information about applying for the scholarship, email Kay Whitener here.
