EU: Illegal Russian Birch Plywood Is Being Circumvented Via Kazakhstan, Turkey

The European Commission has determined that illegal Russian birch plywood is making its way into the E.U. via imports from Kazakhstan and Turkey, Lesprom reported.

Russian wood products are currently sanctioned by the E.U. and the discovery is expected to lead to further investigations by national authorities.

“Once the investigation process is complete, the anti-dumping duties, as high as 15.8%, will be applied retroactively on all imports of birch plywood into the E.U. from Aug. 22, 2023, and for all future imports from Kazakhstan and Turkey,” the report stated.
