U.S. home prices had a 6.0% annual increase in January, the fastest annual rate since 2022, according to the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller U.S. National Home Price NSA Index.
Home prices were up compared with December’s 5.6% annual gain.
The 10-City Composite grew 7.4% in January (up from 7.0% in December), and the 20-City Composite was up 6.6% (up from 6.2%).
Among the 20 cities, San Diego had the highest annual gains with an 11.2% increase, followed by Los Angeles’ 8.6% bump. Portland recorded the lowest year-over-year growth with a 0.9% increase.
