Following a bankruptcy filing Aug. 11, LL Flooring announced which of its 94 stores across 31 states it will close.
The company will close 12 stores in California, 12 stores in Texas and seven stores in Illinois.
The rest of the company’s more than 300 stores across the country and its online platform will continue operation with few changes, the company said.
LL Flooring is in active negotiations with multiple bidders to sell the business and hopes to approve a sale of the company within the next few weeks.
"The company is engaged in discussions with potential buyers of the company, and this process will allow us to evaluate binding bids through a court-supervised process in order to maximize value for all of our stakeholders," LL Flooring said in a letter to its customers. "While this could change, the company currently anticipates closing a sale of the business by end of September if a buyer is identified."
