Dockworkers at East and Gulf coast ports are returning to work after their union agreed on a tentative deal on wages, AP reported.
The International Longshoremen’s Association suspended its strike until Jan. 15 to allow time to negotiate a new contract.
The tentative deal increases ILA wages 61.5% over six years, AP reported.
Consumers and small businesses are unlikely to see any supply shortages because the strike was relatively short.
Dockworkers shut down 36 ports from Maine to Texas on Oct. 1 in a strike over wages and automation.
