KTL Sports Flooring (Banting, Malaysia) is breaking into the U.S. flooring market with its sports flooring system that allows for quick installation.
KTL’s sports and gym flooring system is a FIBA level one certified sports floor system that can be installed over days instead of months, KTL’s U.S. Sales Representative Steven Suntup told WFB.
The flooring is a solid hardwood, tongue-and-groove Hevea that comes in planks 5 inches wide by 7 feet long. The planks are square-edged and come factory-sealed with seven coats of UV-cured non-slip finish.
The system includes FlexiPRO 12, a resilient plywood subfloor with rubber strips underneath for shock absorbency.
Because the planks are long, prefinished and able to be glued down, the floor can be installed at a rate of 3,000 to 5,000 square feet per day, Suntup says.
“Whatever an American sports floor system takes in weeks to install, this Danish technology can be installed in the same amount but in days,” Suntup says.
The Hevea flooring has been installed in 40 countries and was recently installed for sports flooring in New Jersey and New York, Suntup said.
