44% of Small Business Owners Expect Reduced Sales Due to Tariffs

Tariff-related anxiety is surging among U.S. small business owners, leading 44% of them to expect reduced sales due to tariffs, according to a report from Alignable.

Alignable’s April Tariff Report is based on 4,441 responses from randomly selected U.S. small business owners surveyed between March 22 and April 1, before the additional tariffs announced on April 2

The report found over 25% of business owners have already reported tariff-related revenue drops.

As the ongoing impact of tariffs is uncertain, 68% of businesses anticipate continued revenue uncertainty through April and 42% say it could last through 2025.

On the other side, 5% expect a significant revenue boost from tariffs.
