In the U.S., 60% of small business owners believe a recession is on the horizon, according to a report from Alignable.
Recession fears stem from the rising impact of tariffs, inflation fears and overall economic instability, the report found.
The report is based on 8,083 small business owners who responded to an Alignable poll conducted between March 13 and April 24.
Among respondents, 73% say they’re earning less now than they were a year ago.
Additionally, 59% say current and expected tariffs have made them less optimistic about 2025.
Inflation was listed as the top concern among 29% of small business owners, while 60% of respondents expect the current administration’s policies to further accelerate inflation.
