During renovation of a historic monastery in Poland, workers removed the wood floors and found 300-year-old artifacts, the Miami Herald reported.
A team of archaeologists began renovating the former Basilian monastery in Chełm in 2024. While removing the first floor flooring, they found hundreds of artifacts, which included fragments of slab tiles.
The tiles were custom-made for the monastery’s stove and had a personalized designs of bells, ribbons and tools, the Miami Herald reported.
