SMA Annual Conference Slated for April 30-May 2 in Kansas City

The 2026 Annual Conference for the Stairbuilders and Manufacturers Association (Dalton, Ohio) will be held April 30-May 2 in Kansas City, Mo., at the Marriott Country Club Plaza in the heart of the city. 

Highlights will include keynotes about trending topics (such as hospitality in the age of automation); interactive breakout sessions featuring hands-on activities and live demos; and discussions about customer service, communication, “train wrecks” and more.

Home Prices Rise 1.5% in June, Still Trail Inflation
The S&P Cotality Case-Shiller U.S. National Home Price Index posted a 1.5% annual gain in June, up from a 1.2% rise in May, according to S&P Dow Jones Indices. Even so, June marked the 13th consecutive month that U.S. home values fell in real terms, with inflation at 3.5%.

Sales of newly built single-family homes dropped 10.5% in July to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 607,000, the slowest pace since January and 6.3% below a year earlier, according to data from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Census Bureau.
