Report: Online Flooring Retailers Saw Drop in Q1 Activity

Flooring retailer software provider Cyncly's (Laval, Quebec) Q1 2026 Flooring Industry Outlook Report shows year-over-year declines in buyer activity with buyer website visits dropping 21%, consistent with broader falling consumer sentiment (57.0 in January to 53.3 in March), as reported by the University of Michigan.

Phone call leads decreased 22% and online form submissions dropped 5%. The far larger drop in phone calls is reason to believe leads are “spending more time doing their research before they pick up the phone,” according to the report.

Total category page views dropped 14.3% year-over-year; however, hardwood’s views went up 0.2% year-over-year to claim 11.7% of the total share of product page views. The LVP/waterproof category claimed a 39.1% share, while carpet came in at 26.1%, tile and stone 14.5%, laminate 5.5% and area rugs 3.1%.
