MP Global Products Announces Passing of Founder Al Collison

MP Global Products (Norfolk, Neb.) announced that its president and founder Alan “Al” Collison passed away on April 28 at age 78. 

Collison founded the company in 1997, “with a commitment to innovation, sustainability and high performance,” the company said. Under his leadership, the company introduced products including QuietWalk underlayment. 

“Al was more than a founder, he was a driving force behind MP Global and a true pioneer in the underlayment industry,” COO Reid Borgman said. “For over 29 years his vision shaped not just products, but the lives, careers, and the community around him. That legacy will carry on.”
