WFB Briefs: May Construction Spending Rises, NAFO Asks for Signatures for Trump Letter, and More

Total construction activity for May rose 0.1% to $2.210 billion from $2.207 billion in April, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Read the full report here.

The National Alliance of Forest Owners is asking for signatures on a letter to President Trump urging his administration to seek improvements to the EUDR in upcoming discussions with the EU. The deadline for sign-on is Friday, July 24. Sign the letter here.

The National Institute of Certified Floor Inspectors will host a virtual happy hour on July 14, where inspectors can bring “a tricky flooring issue, a puzzling claim, installation concerns, moisture mysteries or an unusual field situation” to their peers to discuss, according to NICFI. Registration is open for the 2026 Flooring Sustainability Summit in Washington, D.C., July 15–16. The summit brings “together the leaders driving sustainability across flooring, architecture, design, manufacturing and construction,” the organizers said.
